Culinary Diplomacy
In a nutshell, Culinary Diplomacy involves the promotion of intercultural understanding and world peace through food. To this end, we work regularly with many embassies in Hanoi to share elements of their nations’ cuisine with the domestic and international communities. Some examples of our work in this area include:
Polish Food Week May 2023 - developing a menu and social media campaign to raise awareness in the Vietnamese community about Poland’s national desserts & alcoholic beverages
Europe Village May 2023 - collaborating with the Embassy of Poland in Hanoi and the Embassy of Hungary in Hanoi to introduce key elements of their cuisines to the Vietnamese market at an event with over 100,000 attendees.
Gay Pride Week October 2022 - supporting the Embassy of Canada to promote the LGBTQI community in Vietnam by creating a food installation to represent the gay pride flag
Sweet Hungarian Stories September 2022 - the Embassy of Hungary in Hanoi enlisted our help to promote the unique cuisine and culinary history of 6 of Hungary’s most famous desserts. We used story-telling, food styling and food photography to connect with the Vietnamese community in order to highlight Hungary’s national dishes.
Thai Summer Delicacies August 2022 - a culinary collaboration between the Royal Thai Embassy of Hanoi & The Eastern & Oriental Tea House and Coffee Parlour
Taste of Australia May 2022 - a project with the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) to promote of Australian desserts and food exports
